about

Stampede Road Edinburgh, UK

Stampede Road led by singer songwriter Graeme Duncan and his Edinburgh based band of Daniel Crichton (guitar), Sam Dick (drums) and Harry Fisher (bass).

The four piece spends many afternoons transforming the acoustic tales of Duncan, mixing them with plenty of harmonies, reverbed guitars, and a clubhouse mentality that aims to create the type of folk songs that have been lost since the 1960's.

Track Name: Old Town
If we start from day one,
I would give you anything,
To find a place I belong,
Let those walls close on in,

You are not my demon,
I will show you nothing,

Let the years go by,
Out the window goes my mind,
I will drink and I will smoke,
Dying like a flower in the snow,

You are not my demon,
I will show you nothing,
You are not my demon,
I will get rid of you,

Just give my time and give me my life,
You will not hear from me again,
Is it early to be the day,
Or is it late to call the night,

You are not my demon,
Packin my bags for the road,
You are not my demon,
So long old town I'm gone.
Track Name: Night Terrors
Your father keeps me up at night,
His night terrors keep me in the dark,
This big old house shivers in the rain,
Your father keeps me up at night,

My dear there is nothing to hold on to,
My dear there is nothing to hold,

Can I change the locks on the doors,
To keep demons of night at bay,
This big old house ain't built like a fort,
Can I change the locks on the doors,

My dear there is nothing to hold on to,
My dear there is nothing to hold,
My fears get the best of all of you,
My dear there is nothing to hold,

Please mother, won't you come to your senses,
Our lives ain't built like this house,
Bolted down and buckled till it's broken,
Please mother, won't you come to your senses,

My dear there is nothing to hold on to,
My dear there is nothing to hold,
My fears get the best of all of you,
My dear there is nothing,
My dear there is nothing,
My dear there is nothing to hold on to.
